How to travel cheap by volunteering? Choose Croatia!

When you’re young, travel as much as possible. Get to know the world, the people, explore your options. Once you start to work, there will be less time and less opportunities to explore.

But you don’t have enough money to travel because you’re a student? Why don’t you try volunteering?

There are numerous type of jobs you can do while travelling. You can became and au pair and loook after children (and maybe doing some basic housekeeping). In exchange, you get a free room and board and a small salary. This is a great way to learn a new language, but maybe you’re not so into kids…

What about working at a hostel? Hostel workers in most places rarely stick around for long, which means there is usually a demand for new help. It’s a great way to meet other travelers and explore the destination in your spare time. You can usually also start off as a volunteer (in exchange for a free room) to avoid any possible visa complications.

If you want to visit Croatia, HI hostels offer volunteering job in most of their hostels, many of which are located in TOP destinations by the sea!

Choose Dubrovnik, Rijeka, Pula, Zadar or the island of Losinj where we have a HI hostel Veli Losinj that got a guest award in 2018 for being the best among all national hostels!
