Croatian Youth Hostel Association (CYHA) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization founded back in 1953 in order to promote the hostelling mission in Croatia and encourage young people to explore and appreciate the rich natural and cultural heritage of our country.

We are dedicated to promote friendship and international understanding by supporting the development of quality youth hostels and providing different kinds of memership cards as well as travel services for individual travellers and groups from Croatia and the world.
Our goal it to help advance the education for the public benefit and helping people to experience and contribute the countryside, environment, natural and cultural heritage of Croatia and all other countries in the world.
In today’s world we like to make an impact and contribute for greater understanding and respect of different regions, countries, people and their cultures.
In order to achieve our mission we provide low cost and quality accommodation in our youth hostels, provide discounts and assist and help individual travellers and different types of groups in creating their travel and educational itineraries.

Governance and structure
Croatian Youth Hostel Association is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation established in 1953.
CYHA is a registered non-governmental organisation – register number 00000668.
CYHA General Assembly
The highest body of governance in CYHA is the General Assembly.
GA consist of representatives from:
a) youth hostels
b) individual members elected through regional centers
c) experts and member veterans
Representatives of the General Assembly are elected for a 4 years mandate.
The General Assembly elects the President, two Vice-Presidents and additional four (4) Board Members. The elected President is also the President of the Board.
The General Assembly also elects three (3) Supervisory Board members.

The organizational structure of CYHA consists of the National Head Office, youth hostels run by CYHA, contracted hostels, travel and tourist department and regional members and volunteer centers. Each hostel is run by a hostel manager.
