About the destination:

Rijeka is the third largest city in Croatia, located in the western seaside part of Croatia, right below the Učka mountain. The capital of Zagreb is 90 minutes drive from the city.

It is recognizable by its city skyline, dominated by tall residential skyscrapers.

The central part of the town is located by the sea, while the main street of Korzo is a favorite place for all the inhabitants.

Throughout history, Rijeka has had three names – the Croatian name Rijeka, the Italian and Hungarian names Fiume and the German Sankt Veit am Pflaum. All names originate from the Latin name Flumen Sankti Victi.

Today, Rijeka is an important Croatian marina. The city is also known as the centre of the Croatian rock scene, and in 2020 it will be the European Capital of Culture.
